TROWBRIDGE
- UPGRADE OF EXTERIOR MASONRY
Trowbridge is a 5-story building in Cambridge, in the historical district, requiring
upgrades to the exterior masonry at three elevations.
Scope of work includes addressing all cracks or spalling
in the limestone bands and cornices as well as the limestone foundation blocks by applying polymer concrete patch; Removal
of the old coating and application of new cementitious coating, color to match original via a 2-coat process, primer &
finish coats; raking out of all failed mortar joints and repointing with mortar to match existing; and seal all suspect leak
penetrations with the application of DOW 795.
Project will be completed via ladders (basement - 2nd floors) and
swing staging (3rd floor - roof line)
R.M. Cochran will oversee that all NSTAR wiring is draped and all trees appropriately
pruned prior to commencement.
STATUS: Commencement: August 21, 2006 - Permits have been approved. Proto-type
of masonry coatings for management/owner approvals
AUGUST 28th - Trees pruned & ownership requested NSTAR to
drape wires at front entrance. Masonry coatings approved. Ladder work in progress. Swing staging ordered
SEPTEMBER
1st - Basement - 2nd floor masonry pointing/coating complete
SEPTEMBER 18th - 40' swing stage at right wall/end
and full sidewalk protection installed to complete work from 3rd-roof levels. We anticpate (3) more moves of the swing to
complete. We are still awaiting NSTAR to drape wires at front of building. We anticipate the right wall to be complete by
end of next week (we will have 2 down days for swing moves). SEPTEMBER 30th - JOB COMPLETED
